I’ll admit it, I had my doubts going in to the game. I’ll also admit at the point when it was 24-7 after Iowa returned a blocked punt for a touchdown I was pondering what exactly was the future of Husker football.

And then, as it seems many of Bo Pelini’s teams do, they found a way to get the job done in a close game. Some of that ‘Pelini magic’ was still around. Good enough to win this game, but not the big one. It’s not the trophy anyone wanted, but it showed that perhaps not all is lost in yet another nine win season.

Should this win make any difference on how the head coach grades for the year? How about for his career at Nebraska? That answer should be a hearty ‘no’, but again, the team didn’t quit on him and found a way to show resiliency and get a much needed win. Brent Craig had a good piece on Bo’s future here: Does Pelini stay or go?

Overall, I’d give the Huskers a solid B for the effort, but how’d the individual position groups rate out?

How would you grade the team? Let me know in the comments below.
