Game Day Weather & HUGE Cornhuskers injury report

facebooktwitterreddit

This is the last Husker Football game and of course it’s an early 11 am kickoff. Once you have slept off your turkey coma, I would recommend lots of layers for this one, in part because of the chilly temperatures, and in part because there is NEVER any warmth from the Iowa fans.  I’m calling it a 5-layer day (turtleneck, Henley, Sweatshirt, winter coat and maybe a little flask of warming fluid).

Accuweather is calling for temperatures to be in the low 20’s at 9am and up to low 30’s at game time. The good news is that it will be partly sunny. The bad news is you are in Iowa and it will be a south wind. (sorry, had to toss one in there). The morning will be like this:

Temperature: 32 degrees

RealFeal®: 24degrees

Precipitation: 13%

Humidity: 82%

Cloud Cover: 45%

Dew Point: 19 degrees

Wind: 10 mph

INJURY REPORT

Kenny Bell – You all know he suffered a concussion last week and was pulled from the game. The question remains how bad was it and can he play on Friday. The coaches are letting the doctors call this one and he remains “questionable” for the game. I’m really hoping he’s ok but look for De’Mornay Pierson-El to be ready to go.

More from Husker Corner

Mark Pelini – He was rolling around in a scooter at practice yesterday so I’m guessing the “questionable” is more like “unlikely.” Our backup center will be fine but Iowa has a BIG front 7.

Alonzo Moore, Marcus Newby, Randy Gregory and Zach Sterup are also questionable for the game. I suspect out of that group Gregory will be playing.  We’re going to need him to create problems.

Jordan Westerkamp – He went down late in the game against Minnesota after he rolled up into the goal post hard. He will be able to go according to Bo’s press conference on Tuesday. We are going to need him.

Don’t forget to be a courteous fan when on the road and GO BIG RED!
