Husker Football: Wisconsin Report Card
Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports
Kickers/Punters B
Mauro Bondi made his return and booted five kickoffs with two going for touchbacks. Spencer Lindsay didn’t make the trip.
For field goals, Drew Brown made his only attempt, a 32-yarder early on in the first quarter.
Perhaps the highlight of the game was Sam Foltz’s fake punt run for 14 yards. He trucked the tackling Badger at the end of the run. Also, his 14 yards were the longest run by any Husker football player on the day.
He had a good day punting, too, booting eight balls for 46.9 yards on average with a long of 70.
Return Game C
Like all of the other facets of the game, the return game wasn’t particularly good either.
One of Husker football’s most electrifying players, De’Mornay Pierson-El, didn’t get much of an opportunity to do what he does best due to Wisconsin’s poor punting gaining 14 yards on just one return.
Kenny Bell averaged 25 yards on his kickoff returns and Alonzo Moore added a return for 21 yards.
Here’s to a lack of red ink next week.
