Husker Football Recruiting: Potential Commit a Perfect Fit

Do you remember the last time Husker football got a commitment? The last time a #BOOM went out over the Twitterverse in reference to Big Red recruiting was around fall camp’s beginning when wide receiver Nekyle Lundie committed on August 8.

It’s been all quiet on the Midwestern front since.

The good news is that may change as of tomorrow. The Lincoln Journal Star’s Brian Christopherson makes an excellent point that not only is this not a bye week for Nebraska recruiting, but that the Big Red could use a receiver or two.

More from Husker Corner

Assuming Jamal Turner is granted another year of eligibility, he’ll be a senior along with Taariq Allen and Sam Burtch. Jordan Westerkamp, Brandon Reilly and Alonzo Moore fill out the upperclassmen as juniors.

If Nebraska’s going to continue to focus on establishing a passing game (and without Ameer Abdullah, that’s probably a good idea), it needs fresh blood.

Christopherson also mentions a receiver that would be a perfect fit for the need: New Orleans, LA’s Stanley Morgan. He recently visited Lincoln when the Huskers took on Illinois, the only official trip he’s taken thus far. His trip on the recruiting trail looks to be coming to an end soon.

"“I’m gone make the announcement on the News next Friday!! Just wait on it” – Nov. 1 tweet"

That’s right, Nebraska’s going to be in another hat battle. The good news is that the Huskers may actually win this one. Fans should have faith that whenever Charlton Warren is involved in a recruitment that not only does the Big Red want said recruit, it’s going hard to the hoop.

Warren’s helped collect four prospects this cycle alone (two four and two three stars).

Morgan’s offers also help underscore his potential. He currently holds offers from No. 1 Mississippi State, No. 3 Auburn, No. 8 Michigan State, No. 14 Ohio State, No. 17 Utah, No. 18 UCLA, No. 20 Georgia and No. 21 Clemson among others*.

Keep your eyes on the Twitterverse tomorrow, Nebraska fans. You may have something regarding Husker football to celebrate after all.
