The Big Ten entered week three following a putrid 1-10 showing versus Power Five conference teams, and was a weekend away from nearly being discounted from the playoff picture altogether.

Week four gave the conference a shot in the arm it badly needed needed to regain some respect (outside of that team from Ann Arbor who needn’t be mentioned).

The two unbeaten teams’ records remained unblemished as the league not only went 4-1 against Power Five opponents. The 12-1 mark put up last week was the best record the Big Ten’s shown during a single week of play in six years.
