Kickers/Punters B+

Did Drew Brown call the bank on that fourth quarter field goal? Either way, it found its way through the uprights from 39 yards out. Brown also made a 19-yard attempt at the end of the second quarter.

The freshman kicker also filled in as the kickoff man for the injured Mauro Bondi. He booted seven kickoffs, three of them for touchbacks. The only black spot was a kickoff that he put out of bounds giving Miami great field position.

Sam Foltz had a quiet day, only punting once for 49 yards. Hopefully he can continue to get a lot of time on the bench!

Return Game B+

De’Mornay Pierson-El was solid in the return game, making no mistakes and showing fearlessness to field the ball in a crowd. Abdullah took all of the kickoff returns with a long of 31.

Going forward, I expect more solid play from the returners. While DPE nor Abdullah had any electric plays, they didn’t need to. They took care of the ball, gained some yardage and set up the offense.
