It was a really strange game for the Nebraska secondary. While they gave up a lot of yardage, I don’t believe they played particularly badly.

There were missed tackles on some of Miami’s screen attempts, yes, but other times they were making critical tackles.

True freshman Joshua Kalu grabbed his first pick as a Husker. Nathan Gerry also had an interception that was inexplicably negated due to a terrible roughing the passer call.

It was nice to see the secondary finally involved in turning the ball over. Speaking of, Josh Mitchell was in the right spot as he scooped up a Duke Johnson fumble and returned it 57 yards for a touchdown.

The senior showed great awareness and once he got going, no one was going to catch him.
