It was a big night for Bo Pelini and his 2014 Husker football team as they upended Miami 41-31 before a Memorial Stadium record 91,585 fans. It was also win No. 400 in the stadium.

All three phases of the game played well with the offensive unit standing out, thanks to stud I-Back Ameer Abdullah.

It was a fun game, especially being in the stands. The students wore black and waved red towels. It felt like a big game, not unlike USC’s trip to Lincoln in 2007.

While the Canes weren’t highly ranked, it was definitely a rivalry-style game. Look no further than the two scuffles between the teams that broke out during Saturday’s game. The officials lost control early and never seemed to regain it.

Credit Nebraska for keeping its cool and not doing anything to retaliate too much beyond the shoving matches. This goes double for Randy Gregory, who was targeted multiple times by Miami players to instigate issues. However, the future NFL prospect kept calm.

Putting the penalties aside, both teams played what turned into an exciting game. Let’s break down the units and see what contributed to Nebraska’s final grade.
