Husker Football: Fresno State Bulldogs Report Card

Offensive Line D
I hate to rag on any position group too much after such a solid win. However, while staying objective, the offensive line was pretty bad for the second week in a row.
In its defense, Fresno was loading the box more often than not, but there was a distinct lack of push up front on many running plays which prevented Nebraska from getting much going up the middle (beyond the two long touchdown runs).
Speaking of the long runs, I won’t discredit those efforts as Alex Lewis had a great seal block on Abdullah’s touchdown and the entire line created a hole for Cross’s jaunt downfield.
In pass protection, the front five seemed to struggle more than they should have against the Bulldogs, with Armstrong getting pressured into early throws.
There were also a few penalties, including one for holding on Mark Pelini as he dragged the nose tackle on top of himself after getting bull-rushed.
