Husker Football: Fresno State Bulldogs Report Card

Jordan Westerkamp’s 70-yard touchdown pass was almost disappointing. I mean, it was just a ho-hum catch and run with no one within 10-yards of the sophomore from Illinois.
What? No backflip?
Senior Kenny Bell had a very solid outing collecting five catches for 84 yards. While he didn’t find the end zone, it was nice to see Bell bounce back after just one catch against McNeese State.
Lane Hovey, welcome to the show! The walk-on from Adel, Iowa caught three balls for 48 yards and recovered an onside kick. Another walk-on, Christian Bailey, caught his first pass as a Husker, a 10-yard reception from Ryker Fyfe in the fourth quarter.
Adding to the grade were a couple of tight end touchdown sightings (what?!). Cethan Carter and Sam Cotton both collected scores.
Carter continued to show signs of promise with an impressive catch before breaking a tackle on his way to the end zone from 20 yards out.
