Husker Football: FearAmeer.com Website Launched
The Husker football program wants to get a message across to its opponents: You’re human. You have emotions. You have instincts. It’s okay. You’re not alone. You and so many others Fear Ameer.
Ameer Abdullah, that is. Rex Burkhead had a similar website put up for his senior season, but No. 22 was (and is) a humanitarian. That was a testament to who he is as a human being and the recognition he so deserves.
Nebraska’s starting running back, on the other hand, is also a fine, upstanding citizen. He also happens to be one of the most electric players in the country. Not just as a running back, not just one in the Big Ten, but the whole nation.
He belongs in the same sentence as Georgia’s Todd Gurley. Now, the University of Nebraska is making a push. If the Huskers can rebound and have a solid season (preferably one with less than four losses), it aims to get No. 8 at least a plane ride to New York City.
The Alabama product already had one Heisman moment. Given, it wasn’t against the best competition, and it wasn’t just that he tore out the hearts of McNeese State faithful that were so close to reveling in a major upset. How he did it was sublime.

What’s next? Can Abdullah repeat the same magical moments against the Miami Hurricanes?
What about a Big Ten conference slate that looks kinda funky (at best) right now? Could he be the difference in East Lansing?
Dare Husker fans dream that he could help the Big Red hold a conference championship trophy high for the first time since 1999?
The ability’s there, as is the story. If this team is to win (and win big), it will be because of Abdullah.
Fear Ameer, indeed.
