Husker Football: Turning Down The Hip Hop Hogwash
I’m a huge fan of music. In fact, in my earlier days (which was like, I dunno, five years ago), I made Husker football music mixes and highlight tapes as a hobby.
Regardless of which you do, you have to have an ear for the proper style and how it works with a certain play or part of the original song.
Well, apparently the new music in Memorial Stadium ain’t quite cutting the mustard for some.

Okay, I get it. Bass-rattling beats and spitting hot fire isn’t for everyone. Not all Husker fans can get turnt. In the spirit of compromise, I have flipped through my vast playlists and found some selections that I’ll be passing on to the individual(s) in charge of audio.
I think we’re on the right track here. T.O. would dig a little Andy Williams, right? Let’s see what’s up next…
This may be getting WAY too close to the cRAP, though. Alcohol and hobos and the like. Hmm…what else, what else… OH! I’ve got it.
Okay, you know how Wisconsin has “Jump Around” that plays before the fourth quarter? Obviously, Nebraska’s not about to copy that, but I’ve got the perfect buffer between the third and final stanzas.
Of course, no playlist would be complete without a tune when Dear Ol’ Nebraska U chalks up a win. Who better for the occasion than Old Blue Eyes himself?
I hope that with these suggestions, not only can the weekly raucous Husker football fans enjoy what floods through the speakers, but Mr. Ackerman as well.

If nothing else, this should help the young people thesedays appreciate some quality music for a change. If you’re going to pay hard-earned money for a ticket, you may as well get dinner and two shows am I right?
Who says we all can’t get along?
