There was very little pass rush and the defensive ends couldn’t hold the edge. This allowed Cowboy running backs to make some major gains.

It was Kansas State transfer/backup quarterback Daniel Sams who did the most damage. He broke free a few times for long runs that totaled 75 yards.

The one sack claimed by the Big Red came by way of Greg McMullen while Vincent Valentine and Maliek Collins each contributed three tackles a piece.

The most concerning part about the game from this unit was that only five total players made appearances.

Kevin Maurice was the lone substitute while relative newbies like AJ Natter and Joe Keels saw zero snaps in relief of Gangwish and McMullen.

The Huskers need Randy Gregory back soon along with Kevin Williams who both missed the game due to injury.
