Wide Receivers/Tight Ends C

Starting tight end Cethan Carter finally made an appearance collecting his first catch of the season, however it only went for five yards.

The tight ends in the Tim Beck’s 2014 offense have taken more of an H-Back role, lining up in the backfield to serve as blockers. There doesn’t seem to be any real pass-catching threat.

Top wide out in Kenny Bell was yanked due to a pulled groin while top reserve Jamal Turner tore his ACL, costing him the remainder of his season.

There was a silver lining to for the Husker football receiving corps, though. Jordan Westerkamp appears to have graduated from Hogwarts and is indeed a wizard.

He had a beautiful one handed grab in the game and a fully horizontal catch that was nullified by a Jake Cotton penalty. I can’t wait to see his next trick.
