Tommy Armstrong, Jr. was very average on Saturday and would have likely received a ‘C’ had it not been for a terrible throw returned 98 yards for a touchdown.

That costly decision would result in a 10-point swing at minimum.

His final stat line read 16-of-31 for 242 yards, two touchdowns and the aforementioned pick. He also sailed passes down field with almost reckless abandon.

That’s not to say there weren’t some bright spots. On a few read option keepers, he looked great, amassing 133 yards on 11 carries including a touchdown run.

That said, there were other times where it appeared that he made the incorrect read and left Ameer Abdullah out to dry. All in all, the offense was discombobulated and it started with the signal-caller.
