2) With a new long snapper in the fold, how will snaps be divided?

Former Miami Hurricane Paul Kelly has joined the long snapping corps, so what does that mean for the special teams units? Well, at the very least it means that starting safety Nathan Gerry is no longer putting in time at the position.

Coach Pelini commented post-practice on September 9:

"“Our compliance department, Jamie Vaughn and his crew, did a phenomenal job of working with the NCAA at getting a waiver,” Pelini said. “It gives us a whole other option.”"

Brian Christopherson of the Lincoln Journal Star noted that Kelly could see snaps against McNeese State, but Josh Faulkenberry will continue to be the top snapper.
