4. Wisconsin (4)

Last Week: 28-24 loss to LSU

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Wisconsin had one of the most important non-conference games for the conference in hand and let it slip away.

Gary Anderson’s big gamble to start Tanner McEvoy at QB over returning starter Joel Stave looked like it was going to pay off.

Once LSU realized MvEvoy struggled throwing down field and adjusted, the Tigers stacked the box and dared him to chuck the pigskin deep.

The Badgers had been doing well against the LSU ground game.

Unfortunately, the second Wisconsin injury of the game forced the Badgers to take out a second starting defensive lineman and the lack of experienced depth truly showed.

LSU had no problem creating giant holes to exploit in the final stanza.

Down 28-24, Wisconsin had one last chance to win by running its two-minute drill. The Badgers ran a total of three plays losing two yards.

Anderson was forced to punt and hope his battered defense could prevent LSU from getting a first down.

The outcome was predictable with momentum on the Tigers’ side.

Wisconsin now has plenty of time to figure out what to do on offense as they should win their next five games by rolling their helmets out on the field.

This Week: Western Illinois (Sept 6 – 11 A.M. on BTN)

My Prediction: Wisconsin 56-14
