1. Michigan State (1)

Last Week: 45-7 win over Jacksonville State

Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

Michigan State took little time disposing of Jacksonville State last Friday night.

The Spartans scored 21 points in the first quarter and 17 in the second before calling off the dogs in the second half.

Connor Cook looked as crisp as ever, showing little effect from an unwarranted shot to the knee in the first quarter.

Of course, Jacksonville State was merely a primer for this weekend’s big showdown with Oregon in Eugene, where College Gameday will originate from.

Michigan State can make a significant statement for itself and the Big Ten with a victory over one of the Pac-12’s best.

The Quack Attack’s high-flying offense has been shut down in few games recently, but Michigan State appears to have one of the top defenses in the country once again.

One not unlike Stanford’s and the Cardinal have been the bane of Oregon’s existence lately.

It’s put up or shut up time for the Spartans on a grand stage.

This Week: At Oregon (Sept 6 – 5:30 P.M. on FOX)

My Prediction: Oregon 37-31
