Tight End

The tight end position was rather unproductive in 2013 compared to years past.

That being said, it’s hard to rely on a true freshman too much as the Huskers did last season with Cethan Carter.

He showed the ability to get open, but dropped the ball too many times to be considered as a reliable option.

Drops were a problem again in camp, but Carter’s confidence seemed to be improving as the weeks went on. If nothing else, he does have plenty of talent as a run blocker.

There’s a fair amount of depth behind him, but it lacks his athleticism.

The Huskers’ offense has the potential to make a big leap through the air if offensive coordinator Tim Beck truly wants to try for a 50-50 running to passing ratio.

That goal can be realized much easier if Nebraska can get more production out of Carter and his colleagues.
