Running Back

The best news coming out of camp is that the nation’s returning leading rusher and All-American candidate Ameer Abdullah stayed healthy.

Abdullah is a proven talent but still went 100 percent in camp.

On Monday, Bo Pelini announced the senior tailback was voted a captain.

Among Abdullah’s most overlooked qualities is his leadership abilities. Husker fans should be ecstatic that one of their captains expects nothing but the best from the rest of his teammates.

Backup Imani Cross has continued to look impressive and should expand beyond his role as a mostly situational back during his first two years wearing the scarlet and cream.

The only negative for this unit was when touted redshirt freshman Adam Taylor broke his ankle. His current status is listed as sidelined indefinitely.

Nebraska still has the horses to fill in for Taylor if need be.
