1. Tommy Armstrong Will Be No. 1 On The Depth Chart…For Now…

Unless something unspeakable happens, Armstrong will have the starting role on August 30.

Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

A educated guess says that Bo goes with experience, so I feel comfortable saying that No. 4 gets the call against Florida Atlantic.

Whether or not he stays No. 1 on the depth chart is another matter.

The other quarterbacks are all adjusting to the speed of the game, so Armstrong has a leg up there. However, it’s early.

Should the gap start to close between him and Ryker Fyfe and/or Johnny Stanton, if things get dicey and his bobbling continues, it’s very possible the hook comes out for Armstrong.

However, Tim Beck has expressed confidence in all of his signal-callers (like he wouldn’t?), but he does have reason to. They all have their talents and flaws, but there are several more practices to define a solid No. 1 and at least an acceptable No. 2.
