5. Terrell Newby Will Be Part Of The Return Unit

Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports

How do you make four running backs happy? Newby will get his carries, but to not utilize his natural athletic talent elsewhere would be a waste.

He has the potential to be a returner that is kicked away from and for good reason. To win big, every team needs a short field once or twice per game.

An easy field goal (or better yet, touchdown) can be the difference between not only a win or a loss, but a change in momentum even when down by a seemingly insurmountable amount.

Picture it: Nebraska’s down 17 to Miami under the lights in the fourth quarter. It looks like another stinker in prime time. The Hurricanes kick off and the pigskin lands in No. 34’s hands.

He jukes, he jives, he bolts past the kicker and there’s nothing left between him and the end zone but green. The stadium erupts and seems to come down on the ‘Canes forcing one three and out after another.

That is the power of an athlete of Terrell Newby.

That’s why he’ll be returning kicks at the very least.
