Former Husker football quarterback Ron Kellogg III was cited on Tuesday for selling alcohol to a minor.

According to the Omaha World-Herald:

"Kellogg was seen by a security guard handing Jenna Torres, 19, from North Platte, a can of beer around 10:45 p.m. during the Lady Antebellum concert Friday, said Rodney Brown, spokesperson for the North Platte Police Department. The two were standing near the front of the Wild West Arena floor. Brown said officers were contacted by security guards regarding the matter."

The World-Herald also reports that Torres received a citation for minor in possession.

This offseason has been a choppy one for Husker football off the field as linebacker Josh Banderas faced potential felony charges after the theft of seven bicycles in mid-May.

Cornerback Boaz Joseph would then run off with a “bait bike” used to catch thieves in the very act that Banderas and Nebraska track and field athlete Lucas Keifer were caught attempting.

Later that week, incoming wide receiver recruit Jariah Tolbert was charged with Obstructing a Police Officer, Possession of 4.4 Grams of Marijuana and Possession or Use of Drug Paraphernalia.

While Kellogg is technically no longer with the program, his actions may force current head coach Bo Pelini to make the punishments he was going to enforce with Banderas and Tolbert (if any) more severe.

Banderas has been working with a community service program to teach bike safety and from all indication has learned his lesson. He even described his actions as “bone-headed” prior to sentencing.

In Tolbert’s case, he didn’t do himself any favors getting in trouble with the law as an incoming recruit, but it’s likely that old-fashioned stadium stair-running is in his future.
