1. Ameer Abdullah

To quote “The Road Dogg” Jesse James: Oh you didn’t know?! Honestly, quite a few fans probably do by now, but Nebraka’s Heisman contender was once a relative unknown out of Homewood, AL. Now he’s re-writing the Husker football rushing record books.

With 2,977 and 20 touchdowns to his name heading into 2014, Abdullah was part of a 2011 recruiting class that included presumed future star Aaron Green.
Braylon Heard had been brought in the class prior, and oh the fun we all had debating which would transfer.
Funny enough, fans felt that Abdullah and Green seemed to be about a 50/50 split with Heard a near consensus to stay on.
Now, here No. 8 is ready to potentially lead his team to the promised land its been aching to see. Regardless of what happens this season, Abdullah’s one of the best to ever don scarlet and cream.
If three stars are being handed out for players like Abdullah, I’d suggest signing 25 every year.
Honorable Mention: LeRoy Alexander, Kenny Bell, Nathan Gerry, Taylor Martinez, Michael Rose
