6. Maryland

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Speaking of newbies, the Maryland Terrapins also get the “Big Ten Welcome Wagon” treatment. Not only does Randy Edsall’s crew have to deal with their new conference brethren, but games against South Florida, West Virginia and even Syrcause early on could cause problems.

Maryland welcomes Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan State and Rutgers into its den. The Terps stop by Bloomington after the aforementioned stop at Syracuse, but they get the pleasure of back-to-back trips to Wisconsin and Penn State.

If their experience at home with Sparty doesn’t go over well, perhaps their visit to the Big House to visit Michigan will (it won’t).

The only reason Maryland sits at No. 6 is because someone has to win the brawl between the Terps and Scarlet Knights at the end of the regular season. I like Edsall’s seasoned defense against a talented, but hot and cold Rutgers offense.

Final Record: 2-10 (1-7)
