This will easily be Nebraska football’s most difficult regular season game. Heading to East Lansing to play a likely top 15 team with a legitimate shot to sneak into the College Football Playoff is a light challenge for no team. The news only gets worse for Pelini as the game’s in…wait for it…primetime.
Connor Cook (the quarterback who helped get Sparty a Big Ten championship crown and Rose Bowl win) returns as does running back Jeremy Langford.
The Blackshirt defense defended Cook well enough last year, but Langford managed 151 yards and three touchdowns.
We’ll find out whether or not Pelini can finally field a team that can win against an elite squad on the road.
Beating a conference championship-caliber team gives Nebraska an insurance win as it winds down the regular season and likely gets Pelini’s seventh team a top 15 ranking.
