Bo Pelini’s Top Five Wins as Nebraska Football’s Head Coach
1. 2011 Ohio State
Remember that Michigan State game I spoke of earlier? You know, the one that sparked the defense into playing so well that it earned its black jerseys? Here’s the gasoline.

After being cold-cocked by Wisconsin in their very first big ten contest, the Huskers drew Ohio State. Thank you Big Ten scheduling gods.
Much like the aforementioned game against the Badgers in 2012, halftime was not a pretty sight in Lincoln.
Down 20-6, Nebraska looked outclassed for the second week in a row.
Running back Carlos Hyde would tack on another touchdown with just under 11 minutes to go in the third. Second blowout in two weeks, here we come.
On a third down option keep, Braxton Miller ran into Lavonte David who, rather than tackle him, decided to take the ball away from him.
As in steal it. Taking candy from a baby.
Surely the Buckeyes could recover from one fumble, especially when ahead by three scores, no? Well, when it rains…
Miller was injured shortly thereafter which brought in Joe “I’ve Never Seen A Receiver I Couldn’t Overthrow” Bauserman. Thanks to Miller’s inept backup and…well, a Huskers team basically willed by the power of its fans, Martinez soon had the opportunity to bolt 38 yards for a touchdown.
Then the Huskers scored again…and again.
Ohio State will always be a part of not only Bo Pelini’s history, but Nebraska history. The Huskers’ 34-27 win that day is the biggest comeback in 124 years of football.
So there you have it. Pelini’s five best wins…so far.
