3. 2012 Wisconsin

NO! NO! NO! Not that one!

Believe it or not, Nebraska actually played the Badgers twice in 2012 and won the first game. You know, it was the first time the Huskers ever wore alternates. Hideous, atrocious alternates. Anyway, an argument for a different day.

At one point, homecoming for the 2012 Huskers was looking like it’d turn out the way the Big Ten Championship Game ultimately did. Well, minus the severe differential in points.

Down 20-10 at the half, Nebraska couldn’t stop Wisconsin from working its way down the field and putting another touchdown on the board thanks to Montee Ball.

Now it’s 27-10 and the Big Red’s goose is cooked, right? Nope.

Pelini’s team would score 17 straight points beginning with a 38-yard touchdown run by Taylor Martinez. A scoring toss to Kyler Reed and 38 yard kick by Brett Maher knotted the score. With 9:41 left in the fourth quarter, Maher would knock a 41 yard attempt through giving Nebraska another three points.

That was all the Huskers needed as the defense kept Wisconsin out of the end zone to complete the second-largest comeback in program history.
