Here we go. A guy finally comfortable in his own skin, becoming a leader and ready to go out in a blaze of glory! If that doesn’t have heartbreak written all over it, I don’t know my college football injuries.

Yes, Mitchell has that swagger of a Blackshirt leader. He talks the talk and walked the walk later in 2013 and during spring practice. If he can stay healthy, he could be one of the best cornerbacks in the Big Ten.

What happens if he goes down: This situation is somewhat similar to the safety spot. You can pretty well pencil in junior Jonathan Rose across from Mitchell unless Charles Jackson grows out of his nickel back role.

That would actually be amazing considering both Jackson and Rose are both fantastic athletes. Junior Daniel Davie and redshirt freshman Boaz Joseph are serviceable reserves.
