Husker Corner Is Looking For Bloggers

Husker Corner is looking to add to our staff. We have added two bloggers, but are looking for more bright writers who are passionate about Nebraska athletics. While these positions do not pay, they are a great way to express your thoughts on The Nebraska Cornhuskers to our thousands of readers. It is also a great way to gain some experience for aspiring writers. We are looking for everything from opinion writers to Big Ten bloggers, post game wrap ups, recruiting bloggers, and more. Below are the positions we are looking to fill, along with requirements and descriptions.
Team Specific Bloggers:
Husker Corner is looking for bloggers who cover all Husker sports. We are looking for those individuals who can specialize in sports that might not have the following of Husker football or baseball. We also want bloggers who cover women’s athletics as well.
Big Ten Bloggers:
Requirements include at least one 500 word blog per week. The Big Ten Blogger would either preview or review the weekends football action, rank The Big Ten, profile players and/or coaches, and other assigned duties.
Recruiting Bloggers:
Requirements include two 300 word blogs per week. The Recruiting Blogger would be responsible for updates on Nebraska Cornhusker recruits, scholarship offers from the team, commitments, decommitments, player profiles, and other assigned duties.
Opinion Bloggers:
Requirements include one 500 word blog per week. The Opinion Blogger would be responsible for forming opinions on various Husker teams, players, coaches, ect. Examples include reactions to coaching decisions, player performance, or officiating. Opinion Bloggers should have thick skin, since criticism is likely with anything written.
Post Game Bloggers:
Requirements include one 300 word blog following games. The blog would include the final score, a brief recap of the game, and stats. No opinions should be included in the post game report. The report would need to be posted within an hour of the end of the game.
Game Preview Bloggers:
Requirements include one 500 word blog that previews upcoming games. The blog would include position matchups, injuries, and a probable starting lineup for both teams. It would be posted on Friday mornings for football, and the day of for basketball, baseball, and volleyball
This Week In Husker History Blogger:
Requirements include one blog per week consisting of at least 300 words. This blog would highlight both great and not so memorable moments in Husker history. This blogger should be a Husker Historian who loves to re visit the past. This blog would be posted every Sunday.
Husker Spotlight Blogger:
Requirements include one blog per week consisting of at least 500 words. This blog would spotlight a current Husker athlete. Career Stats, accomplishments, personality, community involvement, and other subjects would be covered. This blog would be posted every Tuesday.
All bloggers would also participate in a weekly top 25 for football and men’s basketball. Bloggers would also be asked to participate in occasional roundtable discussions in blog, podcast, and video form. Bloggers would be expected to write original pieces without plagiarism and adhere to the FanSided Code of Conduct.
