1. Michigan: Michigan is tied for 2nd most commits in the conference with 24. The Wolverines landed Lakewood, OH. St. Edwards, 5 star offensive tackle Kyle Kalis. Brady Hoke and company have been able to keep him after Ohio State landed Urban Meyer as their head coach. Kalis is the corner stone of this recruiting class, and the crown jewel of a stout offensive line class.

2. Ohio Sate: The Buckeye have landed 5 star Harrisburg, PA. defensive end Noah Spence. Spence showed why he is considered as one of the best high school players in the country in the Under Armour All-American game. With the loss of senior DeVier Posey after this season Ohio State landed a verbal commitment from 6-foot-4, 203 lb. Michael Thomas from Fork Union, VA.

3. Wisconsin: The Badgers only have 12 commits, but are in the running for a couple key players who are uncommitted. Wisconsin seems to plug and pull every year at running back. In-state back Vonte Jackson from Bradford High School in Kenosha, WI. could be the next great one. He is 6-foot-0, 170 lbs. He will probably redshirt with Montee Ball coming back  for his senior season. With the loss of Russel Wilson, the Badgers have not added a big time quarterback commit, or a JUCO QB to take over for Wilson right away.

4. Nebraska: The Huskers have the lowest number of verbal commits of any school in the Big Ten, but they may have as talented of a class of anyone. The top of the class is JUCO cornerback Mohammed Seisay. Nebraska will lose a lot of seniors on defense, and one will be corner Alfonzo Dennard, who will probably go in the first round. Seisay should be able to come in and fill the gap left by Dennard right away.

5. Iowa: With a big hole at running back, Iowa has a verbal commit from a really good one. Erie, PA. McDowell High School’s Greg Garmon is a four star back, who will be able to come in and contend for playing time.

6. Penn State: Despite a coaching change the Nittany Lions still have 14 players committed. A couple players who are still considering other schools. Only four players are from the state of Pennsylvania. The class is headed by West Roxbury, MA. Catholic Memorial High School defensive back, Armani Reeves.

7.Northwestern: Once again Northwestern lands a solid foundation for a class. The Wildcats have 20 verbal commitments.  The class is headed by Centerville, OH. defensive end, Ifeadi Odenigbo. He is 6-foot-4, 210 lbs. and runs a 4.4 40 time.

8. Purdue: The Boilermakers have the most verbal commits of any school in the conference at 25. The class is headed by Olney, MD. defensive end Ryan Watson. Watson is 6-foot-3, 270 lbs., and runs a 4.8 forty-yard-dash.

9. Michigan State:  The Spartans are tied for 2nd to last in verbal commits at 14. The Spartans have landed solid verbals from the top player in the state of Michigan, 6-foot-1, 175 lb four star wide receiver Aaron Burbridge Farmington Hills, Michigan. He will be a huge addition, and a building block for the Spartans offense going forward.

10. Indiana: The Hoosiers have 22 players committed. 6 players are JUCO players who have signed a National Letter of Intent. All 6 are defensive players. The class is headed by 3 star outside linebacker Jacarri Alexander from Iowa Central Community College. He is 6-foot-1, 240 lbs.

11.Minnesota: The Gophers have 24 players committed, but lack a lot of star power in the class. The one diamond in the rough could be Lewisville, TX. runningback Rodrick Williams. Williams is 5-foot-11, 220 lbs., and could be a solid addition to Minnesota’s backfield.

12. Illinois: Illinois is tied for 2nd to last in number of players committed, and it does not seem like the class is going to grow much more. After going 7-6 the Fighting Illini needed a much bigger recruiting class than 14. Illinois still is in the running for a couple 4 star players that have not committed yet.
