Nebraska’s Most Wanted

With National Signing Day just around the corner, here is the list of available recruits that Nebraska has offered. Here is the hypothetical order in which Nebraska would like to get them in. With 1 being the most wanted and 10 being the least wanted of the 10 players listed.

1. Andrus Peat, Offensive Tackle, Corona Del Sol High School, Tempe, Arizona: Peat is considered a five star Player by most recruiting services. He is 6-foot-7  with long arms and is very athletic. Peat recently cut his list down to four schools. Nebraska, Florida State, USC, and  Stanford. There has been rumor that since naming Jim Mora as head coach,  UCLA may have rejoined the conversation for Peat. Andrus brother Todd is currently attending Nebraska. Todd redshirted this year. He is a defensive tackle, and was considered by most the crown jewel of the 2011 recruiting class.

2. Mohammed Seisay, Corner, Eastern Arizona Junior College, Thatcher, Arizona: Seisay is regarded as one of the top junior college players in the country, and rated  four star player by most recruiting sites. With the loss of Alfonzo Dennard to the NFL at the end of this season, Seisay coming to Nebraska would allow the Huskers to have a veteran corner, and someone with NFL level type skills.  Most people are wondering how we don’t have North Carolina defensive end Jonathan Bullard as our number 2 prospect. Bullard has recently cut Nebraska from his list. Seisay announced that he will be making his college choice on Twitter and Facebook  Tuesday December 20, at 8 p.m. central. You can follow him on Twitter @moove Seisay, or follow Hukser Corner on Twitter @Husker Corner.

3. Alonzo Moore, Wide Receiver, Winnfield High School, Winnfield, Louisiana. Moore may not be the highest rated player available at 3 stars, but I don’t think Nebraska’s coaching staff has spent more time on any one player. With Bo Pelini’s ties in the state of Louisiana, Moore is considered to be a Husker lean, and has Nebraska listed as his top school on his list of three.  He is also considering in State Louisiana Tech, and Mississippi State.

4. Quanzell Lambert, Linebacker, Timber Creek High School, Sicklerville, New Jersey: With current linebacker committs Michael Rose, and junior college transfer Zaire Anderson, Lambert isn’t a necessity to Nebraska, but would be huge get. All three linebackers are considered four star players by most recruiting sites. Lambert visited Lincoln Oct. 28 for the Michigan State game and was very impressed. He is down to four schools. Nebraska, Iowa, Northwestern, and Rutgers.

5. Jordan Diggs, Corner/Safety, Island Coast High School, Cape Coral, Florida: Diggs is considered one of the top uncommitted recruits  in the country. He is rated four stars by most recruiting sites. He is 6-foot-0, 191 lbs, but plays about 6-foot-4 220. He was selected to participate in the Army All-American Bowl. Diggs visited Nebraska on Oct. 7, for the Ohio State game, and really enjoyed his visit, but hasn’t really said much about Nebraska since. He is down to five schools, Nebraska, Michigan State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. If Diggs wasn’t such a long shot for Nebraska, he would be higher on this list. I just have a hard time seeing him leaving the southeast.

6. Vincent Valentine, Defensive Tackle, Edwardsville High School, Edwardsville, Illinois: Valentine seems like the most likely recruit to land on the defensive line that Nebraska has offered right now. He is 6-foot-3, 300 lbs with a wide base, and takes up a lot of room on the interior line. Valentine is regarded as a 3 star player by most recruiting sites.  He was just in Lincoln over the weekend to catch Nebraska’s bowl preparation. He has been recorded speaking very highly of his trip to Lincoln. Valentine is down to 3 schools. Nebraska, Florida, and Illinois.

7. Brandon Beaver, Corner Back, Dominguez High School, Compton California: Beaver is considered a four star player by most recruiting sites. He is 6-foot-1, 176 lbs and could fill out his frame a little more. If he comes to Nebraska he will probably redshirt, but he has great ball skills and even better hands. He visited Nebraska on Oct. 7, for the Ohio State game and left very impressed. He is down to five schools Nebraska, Georgia, UCLA, Utah, and Washington.

8. Devin Fuller, Quarterback/Athlete, Old Tappan High School, Old Tappan, New Jersey: Fuller will remind a lot of people of former Husker commit Bubba Starling. He is a highly rated quarterback nationally as well as considered to be  Major League Baseball draft pick. He is not considered to be a top 10 draft pick like Starling was, but could be a first rounder. Most people think Fuller will play college football before he plays professional baseball. Fuller visited Lincoln for the Ohio State game on Oct. 7, and still considers the Huskers to be on his list of interested schools with a handful of others. Fuller would be a huge get for the Huskers in football and baseball, but it will be a stretch to get him.

9. Raymond Ford, Corner Back, Junipero Serra High School, Gardena California: Ford  returned from his trip to Lincoln early Monday morning. He is currently a UCLA commit, but after the coaching change at UCLA, Ford has considered a few other schools and Nebraska is one of them. Ford is the cousin of former Nebraska safety Rickey Thenarse. In my opinion he changes his commit some time this week and ends up a Husker. He is considered a 3 star prospect at 5-foot-10, 180 lbs. He is also rumored to be considering Cal, and SMU along with the Huskers and Bruins.

10. Avery Moss, Defensive End, Corona Del Sol High School, Tempe Arizona: Moss is the teammate of Andrus Peat, if Nebraska gets one of these players, they will more than likely get the other. Moss is rated a three star player. He visited Nebraska with Peat on Nov. 25 when the Huskers took on Iowa. Moss is down to three teams in Nebraska, Arizona, and Purdue.
