Husker Football: Ameer Abdullah Campaign Gets A Charge

facebooktwitterreddit

First, the University of Nebraska put up a flashy website honoring the achievements of Husker football’s most prominent player in 2014, Ameer Abdullah. Now, it’s giving out actual visual aids to drive home the fact that he keeps going and going and going.

Pretty cool indeed, especially considering Iowa’s offering of a large notepad featuring likely first-team All-Big Ten offensive tackle Brandon Scherff.

Don’t get me wrong, Hawkeyes. I greatly enjoy the token of your esteem, especially when it has an All-American, Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy candidate on it.

That said, when trying to get the attention of media, especially national media like Bennett, you have to think outside the box. In this case, quite literally.

What’s next? Pump up videos seem likely, especially during night games the Cornhuskers have coming up. Both Miami (FL) and Illinois’ visits both offer an opportunity for fireworks on and off the field.

Will the HuskerVision crew take advantage of the nationally televised contests to get liberal with its usage of #FearAmeer?

We all know his run that broke the heart of McNeese State’s going to be shown as many times as Kenny Bell’s hit during the 2012 Big Ten Championship Game, if not more.

Consider the public relations blitz the university set up for Bo Pelini prior to the season.

Now, we have the campaign for Abdullah that’s not only taking off, but rocketing towards the atmosphere. Clearly, there are several people earning their paychecks.

No doubt Husker fans can’t help but wonder what they’ve got up their sleeves next for No. 8.
