The Owls’ Overall Defensive Inexperience

FAU had a very impressive secondary last season, in fact, it was incredible.

Opponents averaged over seven yards per pass in only two games.

In the last month of the season, their opponents’ completion percentage was just 38 percent.

Absolutely no touchdowns were scored and six interceptions were generously served up.

I know, “Michael this is why the Huskers should blow the Owls out, not why they have a chance.”

Well, the defensive success stops there.

Florida Atlantic lost their top two defensive linemen who combined for 13.5 sacks and two starting linebackers who combined for five sacks.

This is where Nebraska’s first real advantage comes in.

The Huskers’ offensive line looks to be a real strength, and they’ll be going up against an inexperienced front four.

Should Nebraska exploit this, look for a big day on the ground for the running backs.
