Husker Football’s Odds of Winning the Big Ten Released

Bovada’s offered Husker football fans more odds to consider and these may be even more tempting than individual game bets. Should these numbers be taken under consideration, that’s fine, but we offer them strictly for entertainment purposes, of course.

More from Nebraska Football

Right now, the favorite for a Big Ten Championship Game matchup is Wisconsin vs. Ohio State with the Buckeyes taking the whole enchilada…which I’m assuming comes with that big trophy.

From Bovada:

Ohio State: 1/1
Michigan State: 9/2
Wisconsin: 9/2
Nebraska: 5/1
Michigan: 6/1
Iowa: 12/1
Minnesota: 33/1
Northwestern: 40/1
Illinois: 66/1
Indiana: 66/1
Maryland: 100/1
Rutgers: 200/1
Purdue: 250/1

Assuming my projections for the West and East divisions come  true, we’d see two 9/2 teams play. However, if this is going to be the year that Bo Pelini busts through and brings home a conference championship, there’s money to be made for hopeful Huskers.

College Spun thought that Michigan was a bit too low. I disagree with this. They’ve got a brand new offensive coordinator, Hoke’s done nothing to inspire confidence and he’s got to win two major rivalry games to even get to the title game, let alone win it. All due respect to my Wolverine buddies, that isn’t going to happen.

Personally, I don’t see Nebraska beating either Ohio State or Michigan State (again or if the Huskers do the first time), but that’s where the beauty of the bet comes into play. If you want to lock in a 5/1 shot now, why not? 20 bucks is 20 bucks.

Interestingly, Iowa sits at No. 6 with 12/1 odds and this is a team seen as a potential No. 3 or better in the Big Ten West division.

I don’t think they win, but a sawbuck on Northwestern may be worth it at 40/1, just for fun.
