Hope you all had a quality Easter in whatever form you spent it. Another week begins anew and we do our best to start things off the right way: with you, the fans. As always, we’ve got excellent questions this week, so let’s not delay!

Is Darin Erstad really the guy for Nebraska baseball? After losing to Northwestern, I’m starting to doubt it. – Lester Cunningham (Husker Corner Mail

Brandon: I don’t think that’s a question that can really be answered yet. Keep in mind that the third base coach was a guy that fans would’ve been more than happy with in Erstad’s position. Ted Silva’s been doing a fantastic job with the pitching staff and he received harsh criticism from some coming in.

It’s going to take a bit of time time for a guy who has no head coaching experience to adjust. Regardless, the regular season isn’t even over yet, so let’s put away the pitchforks for the time being.

Have any hot tips regarding recruiting? – Abby Walters (Husker Corner Mail)

Brandon: Well, I was going to save this for the next Big Board, but since you asked. Offensive guard Josh Wariboko-Alali was committed to the Sooners for nearly a year. That’s no longer the case. He’s one of the best prospects in the nation, let alone offensive linemen. Obviously a guy to cross your fingers for and hope John Garrison can lock him up.

I’m going to take a wild guess and say the Miami game is when we bust out alternate uniforms this year. Any idea/rumors on what they’ll look like? – Jeff Peters (Husker Corner Mail)

Brandon: An orange-flavored battle in prime time with 90,000+ on hand. Yeah, seems like the time to bust out some alts. I know many fans like to see the alternates feature black, but this year, I’d personally like something different. Maybe a combination of the 1980s unis to give the old Miami-Nebraska clashes a nod with an updated font and striping. Something like, I dunno…this?

I’ve been a fan of Nebraska’s newer practice jerseys for a long time. A throwback/practice jersey mesh with a proper gradient helmet along with standard pants would be a great tie of the past and the present.

By the way, for those of you enjoy uniforms and are unaware of the site’s existence, check out uni-watch.com. More information on the subject, you cannot find.

Recently, Kenny Bell was talking about having a voice when it comes to his treatment as an athlete, but he’s getting these huge tattoos! Where’s that money coming from??!! – Oscar Reynolds (Husker Corner Mail)

Brandon: A few folks may not know this, but Kain Colter came to Bell for help regarding his unionization proposal. I don’t think Bell saying he’d like to have a voice is a red flag.

Regarding the tattoos, the idea that he paid for them is an assumption. I know plenty of people who’ve gotten ink, are friends with the person on the other end of the needle and pay next to nothing (if anything) for the work.

Maybe it was a belated birthday present, who knows? I think Oscar’s reaction shows us that this issue is going to be a slow burn before it reaches any manner of conclusion.
