Rex Burkhead looked a little slow against Idaho State. He got caught on a couple runs. He clearly wasn’t at 100% last week. Will he be on Saturday?

You are not going to get a finished product against Idaho State. Yes, Rex did get tracked down from behind against the Bengals a couple times, but he still looked pretty explosive, and cut really well on that injured knee. I think he will be just fine, and I could see him getting 100 yards against the Badgers on Saturday.

I really like Eric Martin, he is a lot of fun to watch. I just don’t understand why he seems like the only Husker that cares some times. Do you feel that way?

I wouldn’t say he is the only one who cares. Yes, Eric Martin is clearly one of the more vocal guys on the team, and he likes to celebrate a little more than others, but not everyone is like that. He sure is a great guy to have around to inspire others though.

Do you think Taylor Martinez can have a multi touchdown game through the air against Wisconsin?

Yes, I think he can, but I honestly think it is all going to come down to how he responds to pressure. I think Wisconsin may get to Taylor a couple times. As much as their offense has struggled, their defensive line has been dominant. Through 4 games, the Badgers have 7 sacks for a loss of 35 yards. The Badgers have recorded 21 tackles for loss this season. Nebraska will need Taylor Martinez to respond well to pressure, and not overcompensate for mistakes like he did against UCLA.

Ameer Abdullah has looked really good at the beginning of this season. Could he start over Rex later in the season?

Unless Rex gets hurt again, he will start every game for the rest of the season. With that being said, I think Ameer, Braylon Heard, and Imani Cross have all earned playing time going forward. I would really like to see Braylon Heard get more carries going into Big 10 season. I think he and Ameer will be a great 1-2 punch next season. Having a big back like cross to add to the mix can never hurt. I would like to see the 6-foot-2, 220 lb freshman be a little more decisive with his runs. He still thinks he can juke people, and he just can’t at this level.

We saw Bronson Marsh, Ron Kellogg III, and Taylor Martinez at Quarterback on Saturday. If Taylor Martinez gets hurt, will Kellogg be the starter for the rest of the season?

If Martinez does get hurt. I think they will give Kellogg the shot. If push comes to shove, and Kellogg struggles, Tommy Armstrong will finish the season. He is ready right now according to coach Bo Pelini, but he will only see the field if the Huskers need him to play. If Martinez stays healthy, Armstrong will redshirt, and have four years of eligibility.

Wisconsin running back, Montee Ball had a head injury last week. Will he play this Saturday?
All indications is the Heisman Finalist will see the field Saturday in Lincoln against the Huskers. Don’t be surprised if  Ball is limited, or if he doesn’t finish the game. He has struggled this season, but he really has been the best offensive weapon with a limited passing attack for the Badgers.

Hey, I listen to the Husker Corner Radio Show every week, and I heard last weeks episode from somewhere in Omaha? What was the location and will you guys be there this week?

Yes, the Husker Corner Radio Show has a new home. We are live from BrewBurgers on 75th and Pacific in Omaha. They give away free Jello shots after every Husker touchdown. They have the best prime rib in Nebraska, and they have $0.60 cent wings. Come play Husker trivia and get cool prizes and check out the game on one of BrewBurgers 15 flat screen T.V.’s, along with their amazing projector.  We will be there every week doing the show after the games. Please come out and see us, and thanks for listening.
