Nebraska has a limited amount of scholarships out for 2013 players. 6-foot-6, 240 lbs. defensive end A.J. Natter was one of the first to get one of those offers.

“I have offers from Minnesota, Nebraska, Purdue, and Western  Michigan Michigan,” Natter said.  “They are the only ones who have offered me so far.

The possible four star prospect out of Milton, Wisconsin High School said that he does not really have a favorite out of any of his offers, but he has developed a great relationship with one school, and one coach into particular.

“I have been calling coach John Papuchis once a week since the Iowa game,” Natter said. “I have also talked to defensive line coach Rick Kaczenski. When he came to Nebraska, I was the first defensive linemen coach Papuchis introduced him too. Coach Kaczenski seems like a great guy, all the coaches at Nebraska do. I am excited to go back down there.”

Natter has visited Nebraska twice last season. He saw the Washington, and Iowa game.

“I made two games this year,” Natter said. “Both games were amazing. I was not expecting what I saw, and what I heard. The facilities, and the fans, everything about it was absolutly nuts. The first time I was there coach Pelini, coach Papuchis, and coach Cotton all came up and talked to me personally. I accidently bumped into someone on my way up the tunnel at the end of the Washington game, and it was coach Pelini. He just smiled at me and nodded.”

Natter raved about the coaching staff in Lincoln.

“The team seemed really close nit. Every time I go down there its great. Coming up with my junior day visit, I have high expectations. I know it won’t be a waste of my time. At that time  I was down there, I didn’t have an offer. He (Bo Pelini) said they had heard about me and said he heard I did a lot of good things.  He just seems like a great guy. We just got to know each other while I was there. At that point I was just living it up.”

Natter said he can’t wait for his trip to Lincoln for his junior day visit.

“I talked to coach Papuchis Saturday,” Natter said. “He said once I get there for junior day, I will be able to sit down with him, coach Kaczenski, and coach Pelini and just get know each other face to face. We have all talked over the phone, this will  just have some one on one time instead of on the phone which I think is really important. We are going to go to dinner and every thing.”

Nebraska’s junior day is Feb 18.

Aside from Nebraska, Natter has a busy spring planed.

“I am kind of weighing all of my options right now and trying to plan my official visits,” Natter said. “I have already visited Western Michigan last weekend. I will be going up to Minniesota next weekednd, Nebraska the weekend after that. Then Michigan State after that. I have a busy spring coming up.”

Natter said Western Michigan being a non-BCS qualifier does not reduce their chances for his signature on a national Letter of Intent.

“I really like Western Michigan’s coaches,” Natter said. “That’s a big deal to me. The coaches there just really seem to know what they are talking about about, and they have big plans.”

Natter said, he appreciates all the offers he has received, but would like to hear from a couple more schools.

“I have been talking to other schools that haven’t offered me,” Natter said. “I talk to Wisconisn, Michigan State, but I really wanted an offer from Nebraska. I was really happy when they offered me. They were the first school I received mail from.”

Natter said just because the in-state Badgers haven’t offered him yet, they are still in the mix for him.

“I am from Wisconsin, so I have pressure from people here to go and play there,” Natter said. “Wisconsin told me they are close to offering they just need permission from the head coach.”

Natter said he is going to make it to a few football camps this summer, but he is not sure which ones yet.

“I will be attending some camps, but I am not sure which ones,” Natter said.” I haven’t thought about those yet. I am just trying to get these junior day visits done. I haven’t done any planning in that department.  I wont be attending many camps, so I want to make sure I pick the right ones.”
