It's becoming a bit of a tradition for Nebraska football. Haul in one of the best quarterbacks in the class (sometimes even two of the best) and then let him go to work peer recruiting. Even better than that, the tradition for the Huskers extends to hauling in Elite 11 quarterbacks.

For the second straight year, Nebraska has at least one quarterback taking part in the Elite 11 competition. Last year it was Dylan Raiola and Daniel Kaelin. This year, it's recent commit TJ Lateef.

Lateef's inclusion in the Elite 11 is just part of the good news. The even better news is that he's been spending a lot of his time since committing to the Cornhuskers trying to get some of the best players in his class to join him.

Lateef recently talked to 247Sports and made it clear he's trying to do his part.

"Cortez Mills has been a big target for me," Lateef said. "We were on the same official visit together. Antonio Branch Jr. is another one that I got to connect with on the visit that I'm continuing to recruit, as well as the big offensive lineman from Bishop Gorman, Alai (Kalaniuvalu)."

Mills might be the one that Nebraska fans should be happiest to hear about. Lateef is one of the best quarterbacks in the class and Mills has to like the fact that he's decided to go to the same school the Florida receiver is looking at.

The added bonus is that Lateef is joining Dylan Raiola, who is already a bit of a legend when it comes to peer recruiting. He's also long been viewed as one of the best quarterbacks to start this fall.

If Lateef can help bring in Mills, that's a massive win for Nebraska football in more ways than one.
