The ratings for all the Madden NFL 19 players have been released and we’ve brought you a look at the ratings of all the Nebraska football players in the game.

It’s that time of year again, when Nebraska football fans start to get excited about playing as their favorite Huskers in a popular video game. No, the NCAA Football franchise is still not back, but you can still take on the role of your favorite Huskers in Madden NFL 19.

Maybe you’re not a gamer usually but just want to see where they’re rated in this year’s edition of the game. Madden isn’t out just yet, but the company behind the game has released the ratings for every player in this year’s title.

You can sort through those ratings yourself, or you can just trust us to do it for you. We’ll lay out who the developers think are the best former Cornhuskers in the NFL are. If you really are a gamer, you can figure out what team you want to take the reins of in order to see just how good a season former Nebraska football players have.

Not every former Nebraska football star is included in the first edition of the live rosters. Some won’t show up until EA is certain they’re going to make a roster.

When you are talking about the last few years especially, there are plenty of former Nebraska football players that are going to have to prove they belong before they get their own digital likeness. Check out those that did make the list and see if you agree with those ratings.

Matt Slauson is one of those former Nebraska football stars you sometimes forget is still in the NFL. He’s got one of the longest tenures of any former Husker, having played his first season in 2010.

Despite not getting a ton of hoopla, he’s been a starter in the league for his entire career. The only time he hasn’t started is when injuries have kept him from playing at all.

Slauson spent his first three seasons with the New York Jets, where he started every game from 2010 to 2012. He then moved onto the Chicago Bears where he once suffered his first injury that led to him missing all but five games in the 2014 season.

He was back to starting every game in 2015 though he alternated between center and left guard. In 2016 he found himself a new team and a new full-time position.

For the San Diego Chargers he played all 16 games at center, though in 2017 he went back to left guard. He also missed over half the season last year with yet another injury.

This offseason, Slauson signed a new contract with the Indianapolis Colts. In 2018, the former Nebraska football star and his 74 rating in Madden NFL 19 will be trying to keep quarterback Andrew Luck happy and most importantly, healthy.

Speaking of Nebraska football guys you might have forgotten were in the NFL, defensive tackle Maliek Collins is one of the best rated former Cornhuskers in Madden NFL 19.

Like Slauson, Collins has mostly been a starter in the NFL since he arrived on the Dallas Cowboys in 2016. He hasn’t put up eye-popping numbers, which is likely why you might not have even known where he was.

Clearly, Dallas like him as he started all 16 games last season at defensive tackle. He played in all 16 the year before, and started 14.

Over the course of his career, Collins has recorded 45 tackles and 7.5 sacks. He actually had a better rookie year than he did in 2017. In 2016 he logged five sacks.

That’s despite the fact that Collins got more playing time a season ago. It is interesting to note that Collins wasn’t considered a sure-fire starter in the NFL when he declared.

Certainly, there were plenty of people who believed he’d be able to make a roster, but after being drafted in the third round, he’s shown that he deserved that high draft status.

Still, a 76 is not a particularly high rating for the former Nebraska football star. He’s going to need to show some improvement in the 2018 season if he wants the Madden NFL 19 devs to hike that number up.

There is still some question as to whether the last great pass rusher to play for the Nebraska football team is going to be in the NFL this year. Randy Gregory has been suspended indefinitely for drug use, but there are some signs that he might be allowed back this year.

The folks at Madden NFL 19 appear to think there’s a decent chance he’s going to get on the field and be a pretty good player. The first ratings of the year have Gregory as a 76. That’s neither near the top of the defensive end rankings nor anywhere near the bottom.

It is interesting he has that good a rating, when you look at some of the other Nebraska football names that are rated quite a bit lower.

The Dallas Cowboy is all about unrealized potential, but it’s pretty clear more than a few people are seeing some real potential to realize. Drafted in the first round by Dallas, he’s played in just 14 games and none since 2016.

In those 14 games, Randy Gregory has 15 tackles and one sack. You aren’t going to see a ton of players get a 76 with those sparse NFL numbers.

While the defensive end is considered a bit of a pariah by some Nebraska football fans, they should be happy to see a Cornhusker defender rated this high considering his lack of playing time.

Rex Burkhead finished his Nebraska football playing days wondering if he really had a shot at the next level. Now he’s garnered a 78 rating in Madden NFL 19.

That’s officially the second highest rated back in the game for the New England Patriots. Burkhead has come a long way from when the Cincinnati Bengals took a flyer on him in the sixth round of the draft.

In his first three seasons in the league, Burkhead touched the ball a grand total of 37 times, counting kick returns (13 carries, 17 receptions, seven returns). In 2016, he showed that he was indeed someone who deserved to be in the NFL.

More from Cornhuskers in the NFL

Injuries decimated the Bengals’ backfield and Rex saw his contributions jump. He carried 74 times as he played in all 16 games, for 344 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught 17 passes (his career total entering the season) for 145 yards.

That was enough to convince the New England Patriots to give him a free agent contract that allowed him to start three games for the AFC’s Super Bowl participant. Last year he ran for 264 yards and five TDs while catching 30 passes for 254 yards and another three scores.

That 78 rating means the Nebraska football star is expected to be the team’s jack of all trades, even if he isn’t going to be the starting running back in Madden NFL 19.

Prince Amukamara is almost the longest-serving Nebraska football player on this list. He joined the NFL in 2011 and played in seven games for the New York Giants.

The year after his rookie season, he started to find his footing and become a starter, starting 11 of 13 games he appeared in 2012. After spending several years in Chicago, where he started more often than not, he jumped to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016.

Starting in 12 games and appearing in 14, Prince Amukamara moved to Chicago for the 2017 season and had the same number of starts and appearances. Over the course of his career hes racked up 357 total tackles and seven interceptions.

All of that was good enough to garner the former Nebraska football lockdown corner a 79 rating in Madden NFL 19. That number puts him about third on the Bears cornerbacks that are starting out in the game.

Quincy Enunwa  is a bit of a feel good story for Nebraska football fans. In his rookie season, he appeared in just one game.

In his second year in the NFL, he appeared in 12 games, started six and had 22 catches. In 2016, Enunwa was the New York Jets go-to receiver as he pulled down 58 catches for 857 yards.

Last year was a bit of a setback as the former Husker suffered a season ending injury before the season ever got started. This year, boasting a 79 rating in Madden NFL 19, he’s going to be looking to get back to being the go-to guy.

He has a bit of a hill to climb, as his rating is only the third best on the team. Still, he does have the satisfaction of knowing that he’s the highest rating wide receiver currently playing in the NFL who played for the Nebraska football team.

It wasn’t that long ago former Nebraska football star Ameer Abdullah would have been rated quite a bit higher. Ameer was supposed to be the heir apparent at running back for the Detroit Lions the last few years.

Injuries and ineffectiveness has caused him to most likely lose his job in Detroit. He certainly is going to need to have a very good camp if he wants to get back to heir apparent status.

Abdullah’s 82 rating in Madden NFL 19 is certainly respectable, but he’s actually only the third best rated running back on the team.

The EA Sports devs clearly understand he’s still got the talent to be “the man.” Despite being “third string” as far as overall ratings go, he’s still got the best speed, agility and acceleration ratings of any of the Lions in the backfield.

Nebraska football fans certainly remember those attributes when he was playing on Saturdays instead of Sundays.

Yes, that’s right, a former Nebraska football punter is right near the top of the best rated former Huskers in Madden NFL 19. Some might take that as a bit of a statement about the level of talent Nebraska has been sending to the NFL the last few years.

Koch is actually the longest serving active former Husker on this list, as he entered the leage back in 2006. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens and has been their punter ever since.

Considering he’s got that 84 rating, it would appear it’s a very safe bet something would have to go quite wrong before Koch wouldn’t be the team’s punter again this season.

The truth of the matter is that punters and kickers generally are going to get higher ratings than other position players. There aren’t as many players at their position, or on the team.

At the same time, garnering an 84 is still quite the accomplishment, especially for a former Nebraska football star who has been getting added to the Madden NFL franchise for 13 seasons now.

The Miami Dolphins might have decided that Ndamukong Suh wasn’t worth the money they were paying him anymore, but Nebraska football fans know what a force he can be.

It turns out the Los Angeles Rams have an inkling too. Suh is going to spend the 2018 season on his third team in the NFL as he signed a new contract with L.A. this offseason.

It’s hard to get much better than a 94 rating on Madden NFL 19, but he isn’t the highest ranked former Husker. Still, he’s easily one of the best-rated players on the Rams and is going to make that defense really fun to play with.

Over the course of his career, Suh has been a run stopper and someone who can sack the quarterback. It will be interesting to see him clogging up the middle for the Rams in this video game the way he used to do it for the Nebraska football team.

We have finally reached the summit of the ratings of former Nebraska football players in Madden NFL 19. Lavonte David is not only one of the best linebackers in the NFL, he’s the highest rated former Husker in the game.

David has routinely logged well over 100 tackles a season and he wreaks havoc both against the running game and the passing game.

All of these skills make him not only one of the most highly rated former Huskers but also one of the most highly rated players in the entire game. That despite the fact that he had a bit of a setback last season, as he missed three games due to injury.

That was just the second time in his NFL career David has missed any time. Since he entered the league in 2012, he’s missed a grand total of five games and started every single contest he’s been healthy enough to play in.

Lavonte David is in truly rarified air when it comes to his Madden NFL 19 rating. Other Nebraska football stars, both past, and present are likely looking at that rating and hoping they can get there someday.

While we’ve reached the end of the top 10 former Nebraska football player ratings in Madden NFL 19, head on over to the next page to check out the honorable mentions, and a rundown of every former Husker that has been included in the game so far and their ratings.
