The Nebraska football team hosted a swath of recruits on Saturday. Several of them reacted to what they saw and took part in at the Spring Game.

The Nebraska football team put on quite a spectacle on Saturday. The Cornhuskers’ Spring Game was the most attended of any Spring Game this year.

Among the people who attended the game was a ton of recruits Scott Frost and company are hoping will fall in love with the atmosphere in Lincoln.

While gamedays in the fall have been big-time recruiting tools for the Huskers. It looks like the Spring Game is going to turn into something special as well.

The prospects that attended the game were from all over the country and across a ton of different classes. A ton of in-state recruits were in attendance to watch the scrimmage.

There were also a ton of different JUCO visitors. And then there were 2019 prospects that got to take in what the gameday atmosphere in Lincoln from a firsthand perspective.

After the game was over, a number of the Husker recruits were willing to share what they thought of the event and their visit. If those reactions are any indication, it looks like having kids down for the Spring Game is going to be a thing for years to come.

Now the Nebraska football team needs to find a way to close the deal with some of the better players in the country. The Spring Game is only going to be an effective recruiting tool if the fallout from a visit means that there are going to be some commits.

Check out the reactions from some of this weekend’s visitors and then stay tuned to see what commits come out of Saturday’s Nebraska football Spring Game.

Nebraska football is looking for the next great JUCO running back.

While Nebraska football fans were watching JUCO transfer Greg Bell run over, around and through the defense on Saturday, there was another potential JUCO back taking it all in as well.

Charles West, a star running back for Garden City Community College was in attendance for the Spring Game. It’s not entirely clear just how high on the list of West is for the Cornhuskers but he’s clearly a talented back.

West had quite the season for Garden City CC. In 12 games last year, he carried 176 times for 972 yards and eight touchdowns.

That 5.5 yards per carry average shows a speed that the Huskers are clearly interested in when they are looking to add players to the roster. Once a commit to BYU, West has shown that his high school talents are now able to translate to college.

The Nebraska football team appears to be willing to give carries to JUCO transfers. Bell looks like the real deal. That could go a long way towards getting someone like West to come to Lincoln. It also looks like the talented back is already making friends considering he posted a picture of him hanging out with Bell.

Nebraska football is trying to steal an offensive tackle from Texas A&M.

If there is one group of players that took some steps during the Spring Game it was the offensive line. While they allowed a few too many sacks, they were clearly having some success run blocking.

Despite those strides, the Cornhuskers are looking hard to bring in as many talented offensive linemen as they can in the 2019 recruiting class.

To that end, one of the most anticipated visitors on Saturday was lineman Hayden Conner.

Conner is a Katy, Texas native who is currently carrying seven offers. That includes plenty of Power 5 teams.

247Sports thinks that Conner is a pretty heavy Texas A&M lean. It’s possible that’s changed a bit this weekend as the offensive lineman tweeted out that his visit to Lincoln was “unreal.”

The Cornhuskers still have a bit of an uphill climb when it comes to luring the player to Nebraska.

They’re going to not only overcome Texas A&M but schools like Miami, Missouri and Kansas State.

Considering that the Spring Game had more people come to the scrimmage than any other school in the country, there’s a chance Conner is going to realize that there are few atmospheres as good as what the Nebraska football team has to offer.

Nebraska football appears to be making an impact with Ohio running back.

The Nebraska football coaching staff has long talked about the fact that they want a massive stable of running backs to pull players from.

That’s why the Cornhuskers’ staff has been going after a ton of running backs in the 2019 class. One of the best in that class is Ohio back John Bivens.

Ranked as a three-star running back by 247Sports composite rankings, he’s considered the 13th best player in the state of Ohio. He’s also the 26th best running back in the entire 2019 class.

Bivens might be one of the most sought after recruits that made the trip to Lincoln. While he hasn’t been offered by Ohio State yet, he has offers from power teams like USC, Louisville and West Virginia.

The Huskers are also going up against a couple of Big Ten teams like Purdue and Indiana. One of the things the Conrhuskers have over any of the other schools on the list is that they had 86,000 people come watch them practice.

Bivens was clearly blown away by the atmosphere he got to see. He had to also like the stats the Nebraska football running backs were putting up.

Of all the prospects who took a visit on Saturday, I think this one is the most likely to end up committing, and rather soon.
