The Nebraska Football lineman is ready to  do whatever it takes.

Jimmy Fritzsche is an interesting player. He was also a surprise Nebraska Football commitment back in December as the team appeared to be the underdogs to the Clemson Tigers in his recruitment. With Clemson being right down the road from Fritzsche’s  house, it would not have been a stretch to say the Cornhuskers were underdogs in his recruitment. Nevertheless, Scott Frost and his staff landed the offensive lineman, and now he looks to make an impact for Nebraska.

What makes him an interesting player is the fact that he could also play tight end. I can’t imagine being a defender and having to deal with a six-foot-seven tight end. That sounds miserable. However, luckily for the Big Ten especially, defenders will not have to worry about that. Instead, he is slated to be an offensive lineman for the program, a position that should allow him to bring immediate results to the team.

Much like some of the other Nebraska Football recruits, Fritzsche is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team. In that sense, he should fit perfectly into the culture of the program. Team play is something that Nebraska Football has seemed to place an emphasis on. Nebraska Football fans should be excited about what he can bring to the table. Fritzsche seems excited as well, and was impressed by how quickly the program has risen into the national spotlight as he told Brian Christopherson of 247Sports

"“Watching how they built throughout the year, they’ve climbed ladders every week,” Fritzsche said."

Climbing ladders is something that Nebraska Football should continue to do, as they have a well-rounded roster full of talent. There is little doubt that Fritzsche should be in the conversation when it comes to offensive line. Although the Nebraska Football program has some veteran talent on the line, his size and skill set should be able to suit him well as preseason camp battles begin to heat up.

Right now, he is trying to find his role with the team. As a newcomer on the roster, that is more difficult than it sounds. Whatever his role may be, he is willing to adapt to whatever comes his way.

"“I told them, man, ‘I’d be flexible,” he said. “If someone got hurt and they needed me to catch passes one game, I’d do it. Or if they needed me to (block), I’d do it … I’ll compete and work for it, for sure … I could have moved every week, but we ran the ball so well to my side, I stayed down in that 3-point position, which was great and I loved it.”"

He will certainly be a fascinating player to watch. Although he is still raw in some aspects in terms of technique, there is a lot to be excited about with him. His size should be able to suit the program well as they look to protect Adrian Martinez as much as possible. He could develop into one of the best offensive lineman on the roster within the next couple of years.

It will be interesting to see if the Nebraska Football program uses his versatility to their advantage. He seems destined to make an impact in whatever role he is in. That is a great sign for the Nebraska Football program.
