Domann wants to be a key contributor for Nebraska Football.

As a football player, it must be nice when the coaches tell you that you can be yourself. It appears that Nebraska Football is taking that approach with linebacker (at the moment) JoJo Domann. Heading into the 2019 season, versatility is going to be something that is important for him. After missing a month last season with a stress fracture in his back, Domann enters spring ball heathy and ready to prove himself.

More from Husker Corner

In 2018, he recorded 19 tackles, a sack, and two forced fumbles in six games. When healthy, he proved to be a very dependable player for the Nebraska Football defense. He was not afraid to come up and make a play and proved to be an aggressive defender. He was able to do many things well, and that trait should come in handy in 2019. It is always good to have versatile football players on a team and Domann certainly fits into that category.

One thing is for certain: Whatever position he will play in 2019, he will be ready for it. As he told Parker Gabriel  ($ )of the Lincoln Journal-Star, it all comes down to remembering what the playbook is. His willingness to play whatever role the Nebraska Football team needs him to do, it sounds like he is ready to take on the role. This is great news for the football team as it sounds like he will do whatever it takes to win.

"“Playbooks aren’t hard, it’s just the read and reaction and actually making plays,” he said, adding that his time at safety has helped him process information faster now that he’s closer to the action. “Seeing your key, then reacting on it.“In that aspect, I’m processing information a lot faster now, and it’s going to lead to me making more plays on the field.”"

In that respect, he should be able to help the Huskers quit a bit in 2019. The coaching staff seems to recognize that as long as they let him play his game, he should be able to make an impact. His versatility should be an asset to the defense. The fact that he has a keen awareness of being able to read and react and wants to get better at it is essential.  The fact that he has a willingness to learn is crucial. Those traits will allow him to leave a good impression on the coaches. Not only that, they will help him on the field.

Next. Three offensive players with the most to prove. dark

JoJo Domann is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win. He should have a breakout season because of it. He has had his ups and downs in his collegiate football, but this season in particular, he seems focused on being an impact player for Nebraska Football.
