The Nebraska basketball team officially released its full season schedule after months of announcing dribs and drabs of who they will be playing.

The Nebraska basketball team announced its full season schedule for 2018-19 on Wednesday morning. The program had been releasing little bits and pieces of the schedule over the last few months but now we have the whole picture.

The season is going to kick off with an exhibition against Wayne State. It really gets rolling in the opener on November 6 against Mississippi Valley State.

Five days later they play another cupcake in Southeastern Louisiana. The schedule gets a bit harder from there.

On November 14, they take on Seton Hall, who went 22-12 a year ago. On November 19th they will go up against Missouri State.

While the Bears aren’t quite what they were in the past, they’re still a decent Missouri Valley team.

November 24 they will go up against Western Illinois. Two days later they square off against Clemson in the ACC/Big Ten challenge.

After a couple of conference games against Illinois and Minnesota, they go back to the non-conference slate for games against Creighton, Oklahoma State, Cal State Fullerton and Southwest Minnesota State.

When you look at the whole picture, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. Certainly, there are some top of the line talented teams on the slate. Oklahoma State, Creighton, and Seton Hall are all going to be good wins, should they be wins at all.

On the other hand, there are a lot of patsies. Having Mississippi Valley State, Cal State Fullerton, Southwest Minnesota State, Western Illinois and Southeastern Louisiana all on the schedule isn’t great.

Some of the cupcakes just can’t be helped. Still, looking at that slate, considering the Nebraska basketball team missed the tournament because of a weak schedule a year ago, it’s underwhelming.
