If Nebraska basketball could get this one, it would be one heck of a coup.

The Nebraska basketball team has had a pretty good spring and it could get a lot better in the near future. One of the best point guards in the 2018 class is still on the market and is showing a bit of love to the Cornhuskers.

Jordan Lathon was once committed to another Big Ten team. At the end of May he decommitted from the Northwestern Wildcats.

Since he became a free agent again, there have been plenty of teams that have shown interest. Jake Weingarten is reporting he’s racked up three more offers in the last few days.

Lathon has earned interest from Washington State, Cincinnati, SMU and Virginia Tech. Those are the newest teams to officially offer him a scholarship.

If the Huskers thought they were done fighting against Big Ten opponents for the point guard’s affections, they were wrong. Ohio State, as well as Texas Tech and Gonzaga have shown interest as well.

Those are some big names the Cornhuskers are going up against. At the moment, Iowa State might just be the team to beat.

Lathon is reportedly taking a visit to Ames on June 15. Considering the only other official visit he’s taken is to Northwestern, it seems likely that Iowa State getting that far is a sign.

According to 247Sports, Lathon is the fifth best player in Missouri in the 2018 class. He’s also the 126th best player in the entire class.

The return of James Palmer Jr and Isaac Copeland is plenty important. It means the team is going to be on the cusp of being in the Top 25 at the start.

If the Nebraska basketball could land Jordan Lathon it would be a heck of an addition to an already talented group.
