The Nebraska football team is hosting a former NFL player’s son this weekend and ahead of his visit, the recruit says the Huskers are right near the top of his list.

Robert Porcher IV hails from Orlando, Florida and is set to check out Lincoln, Nebraska for the first time this week. The strongside defensive end may not be participating in the Friday Night Lights camp but he’ll still get to see plenty of what the University has to offer.

Porcher, who had thumb surgery last week should be perfectly fine to play for his high school this fall and try and improve on his 92 tackles, 11 sacks and 32 TFL he recorded a year ago. The defensive end is the son of former NFL defensive lineman Robert Porcher, who spent most of his career with the Detroit Lions.

As has been the case with most of the Nebraska football team’s defensive line recruits, Porcher had good things to say about d-line coach John Parella. “Yeah lately they’ve been talking a lot,” he recently told HuskersIllustrated. “My dad is definitely excited to visit too. We’re trying to find a new home for me next year. We’re both trying to get out and explore. Nebraska has been on the top of the list. We’re just going and exploring the place.” He added.

While the defensive end is only a two-star recruit according to Rivals, he’s garnered three stars from 247Sports. The NFLers son will likely see his stock rise over the course of the 2016 season should he build on his Junior year.
