Keith Williams the WR coach for the HUSKERS

The final piece is in place. Keith Williams, one of the younger ones on the staff at 43, has most recently been coaching at Tulane in New Orleans. The Times-Picayune is breaking the story. He was there coaching 3 years, and spent 3 years before that as a Bulldog Fresno State Wide Receivers coach for Pat Hill. Like many others on staff with Riley, he seems to have a certain flair to him. I think Kenny Bell would like this guy.

Most notable coaching up of his players would be Ryan Grant who was drafted to the Washington Redskins in the 5th round in 2014, and Jalen Saunders who began at Fresno State and later transferred to OU.  As far as coaching style, he is known to be an aggressive coach with regard to “blocking, mentally be aggressive, playing fast and be technique-sound.” Williams played at San Diego State from 1991-1993 and later played professionally with the Washington Redskins, the World League of American Football and the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League.

More from Husker Corner

As a coach he’s enjoyed success through his players as well. In 2012

Tulane’s

receivers hat a total of 186 catches collectively for 2,656 yards including 19 touchdowns. In 2013 his receivers combined for 156 receptions with 1,877 total yards and 18 touchdowns. I’m looking forward to what he can do with our Husker talents like Pierson-El and Turner and Moore.

On the personal side,

Williams

is married to Ayana, and they have a son Keyan who was a freshman at Fresno State, and a daughter, Kaya. He has a bachelor’s degree in public administration from San Diego State earned in 1996. From my quick review of the things out there on the internet, it looks like he’s a player’s coach. He even did the ALS bucket challenge with his wide receivers. Pair that with his twitter handle @wideouts and I’m loving it!

Welcome to the Huskers team Coach and

GO BIG RED!!!
