Miami Beach Bowl

If you already have all your holiday shopping done and you get to sit back and just binge watch bowl games, here are some tidbits in case you want to get into that office pool. TV schedule included.

Miami Beach Bowl on December 22 at 1pm on ESPN matches BYU Cougars v Memphis Tigers together. It’s a rumble in the jungle of sorts with these two cats. QB Paxton Lynch from Memphis has a school record for the most touchdowns in a season with 10. Cougars can keep it close but I’m thinking the receivers take over for the Tigers and will win the day. Looks like the late line is Memphis -2.

Boca Raton Bowl on Dec. 23 at 5 pm on ESPN. This game has Marshall versus Northern Illinois. Northern Illinois handily won over Bowling Green to get the MAC Championship. Marshall was on pace to be playing is a top bowl but was upset late in the season. I think this one will actually be a contest despite what Vegas thinks. They have it listed at Marshall – 10.

Boca Raton Bowl

San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl on Dec. 23rd at 8:30 on ESPN. This is a home game for SD St. They will see the Aztecs put some points on the board but Navy and their option game should do as they did before (Oct. 25 winning 41-31) against SD St. I’m going with a few good men in this won. Vegas seems to think differently with SD St -2.5.

Popeyes Bahamas Bowl is seriously being played in Nassau, Bahamas. Central Michigan and Western Kentucky players had better be getting their passports ready to play on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24th at 11 am on ESPN. The Hilltopers upset Marshall at the end of the year and seem to be gelling at the right time. If QB Rawls can buy enough time with his legs, it will be close but I’m going with Vegas on this one. Western KY -3.

More from Husker Corner

Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl in Honolulu on Dec. 24th, at 7 pm on ESPN. So much for a white Christmas for the Bulldogs and the Owls. Fresno State and Rice will no doubt enjoy the sunshine and splendor of Aloha Stadium. Bulldogs started out rocky this season in non-conference play but pulled it together when it counted. Owls have the stronger defense so I’m going with them. Vegas holds Rice – 2.5.

Your next installment will take you right up to the Husker bowl game. Stay tuned to Husker Corner and GO BIG RED!
