The All B1G Ten selection has a Media and a Coaches side to the voting.  Here’s how they see it for the Huskers….

Ameer Abdullah – Running Back – 2nd Team Coaches & Media

Nathan Gerry – Linebacker – 2nd Team Coaches & Media

Maliek Collins – Defensive Line – 2nd Team Coaches (Honorable mention Media)

Honorable Mention Coaches:

Nathan Gerry – Linebacker

Zaire Anderson – Linebacker (and Media)

Jake Cotton – O Line (and Media)

Sam Foltz – PK

Alex Lewis -O Line (and Media)

Josh Mitchell – CB (and Media)

*Corey Cooper – CB Media Honorable Mention

Unanimous First Team selections were Joey Bosa, a D Line player from Ohio State and Melvin Gordon, RB from Wisconson. Gordon also garnered the Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year Honor from Wisconsin.  Bosa also took home the Smith-Brown Defensive Lineman of the Year honor. A large factor in Abdullah not making the first team was the competition in the B1G Ten and also the injury that kept Ameer out of the games and limited in yardage following that injury.

Mike Hull from Penn State won the Butkus-Fitzgerald Linebacker of the year trophy. Iowa’s Brandon Scherff was awarded the Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year.  The Thompson-Randel El Freshman of the Year will be announced tonight at 6pm EST on BTN live. (Hoping that other “El” guy’s name is announced)
