Former Nebraska Cornhuskers wide receiver Quincy Enunwa isn’t exactly making the news he’d like to. According to TMZ, the Husker football alum was arrested for “allegedly getting into a fight at the Wyndham Hamilton Park Hotel”.
Enunwa was released by the New York Jets to clear the NFL waiver wire before being picked up and being placed on their practice squad.
Jets head coach Rex Ryan made a brief statement regarding the dust up on Wednesday afternoon. “I’m aware of the situation, but it’s a pending legal matter so I’m not going to comment on it.”
Enunwa started 34 games for the Cornhuskers and hauled in 115 receptions for 1525 yards and 15 during his career.
He was named the 2014 TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl MVP thanks in large part to hauling in what would be a record 99-yard pass from quarterback Tommy Armstrong, Jr.
The former Nebraska offensive captain was drafted in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL draft at the No. 206 spot overall.
